Castiel didn’t like seeing Dean so nervous and tense, especially when he had no idea why he was like this. He couldn’t wrap his head around why Dean would be so nervous about their first date when they’d been together for more than a month now. They’d already been through so much together in such a short amount of time that their first date shouldn’t be nerve-wracking, it should be exciting.

When Dean finally answered him he couldn’t help but chuckle at the wink he gave him. Castiel loved when Dean would be flirtatious, but it didn’t help to calm his worry about how nervous Dean was. “Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked with a shy smile before adding, “How did you sneak the food past me? What are we having?”

Dean knew that Cas could probably see the high tension he was under—the kid could practically look straight through him and it was admittedly kinda creepy but at the same time adorable in so many ways—and he really didn’t want to disappoint the confidence Cas had put in him. He didn’t need to be nervous, right? Not after everything they’d been through together. He knew that Cas liked him, loved him, and that was more than enough for him. They had a good thing going and he was not about to let himself fuel his self loathing and push Castiel away. This was their time.

“I’m okay baby, just tired” he said softly, squeezing Castiel’s hand as he rubbed his thumb against his wrist. When Cas asked about the food, Dean couldn’t help laughing as he looked at the younger man, crooking an eyebrow at him. “Nah- uh. I don’t kiss and tell.” he teased, a smile playing on his lips. “Did you get your jacket? We’re almost there”
